Maple Blossoms and Sycamore

 

Early morning light sets spring maple blossoms ablaze against hill shadow.    

The photo is an optical illusion.  There are three trees in the frame.  Two of them are maples, one in front and one behind.  In between the maples the bone white branches of a sycamore stand bare.  A telephoto lens has visually compressed the three trees into one.

In moments the sun's slow sail up and west will illuminate the hill behind the trees breaking the illusion of one skeletal tree on fire.
